Philip Craig, a Principal Consultant, has over ten years experience of managing research and evaluation teams. He brings knowledge and expertise in the development of economic and spatial strategy, most notably the ‘place-shaping’ role of regional and local authorities and the performance of cities, sub-regions and local areas. He has directed a variety of studies assessing the governance of economic development in the regions and work with local authorities to capture the economic geography and plan for collaboration across boundaries. Recognising the role of cultural and creative industries as dynamic economic sectors, Philip has also directed studies to capture the evidence required to inform investment decisions (for SEEDA), evaluate the economic impact of events and festivals (including the evaluation of the Edinburgh Festivals for Scottish Enterprise) and better understand the economic impact of tourism on regional and local economies (for Defra and emda).
