Social Affairs & Equal Opportunities (December 2007- April 2009)
IN 2007 DG Employment commissioned GHK to assess the costs and benefits of providing social protection to self-employed men and women across the 27 EU Member States in the context of revising the relevant EU legislation (Directive 86/613/EEC). Subsequently a review of the social protection situation in relation to self-employed and assisting spouses was undertaken in the EU Member States and the costs and benefits of the current situation and proposed changes were identified.
