DG Employment, Social Affairs & Equal Opportunities (January 2010- September 2010)
In 2010 DG Employment commissioned GHK to evaluate the European Social Fund (ESF) support to gender equality. The purpose of this evaluation was to provide an initial assessment of ESF support of gender equality on the basis of available evidence related to actions undertaken during the 2000-2006 programming period and to the first stages of implementation of ESF funded interventions in Member States in the 2007-2013 programming period. This involved assessing the extent to which the objective of gender equality was taken into consideration during the programming process and the extent to which the objective of gender equality is being integrated into the implementation, monitoring and evaluation activities of the current programming cycle for the ESF Operational Programmes (OP).
